Cluster Munitions Monitoring and Information Campaign in Azerbaijan

With global attention picking up on the recently launched campaign for a new treaty, similar to the Mine Ban Treaty, to address the scourge unleashed by cluster munitions, the AzCBL undertakes a project to monitor the possible use or stockpiling of cluster munitions, and any efforts taken to clear cluster munitions already deployed in the republic.  The goal is to develop an extensive database of knowledge and statistics on the situation regarding cluster munitions in Azerbaijan and to disseminate that knowledge as broady as possible.

Therefore, an information campaign will be launched to bring the issue to the forefront of media, government, and public attention.  The AzCBL will conduct training seminars, engage the local and national media, and campaign for the government of Azerbaijan to take real steps towards joining the global movement to ban cluster munitions, and until such time, to take action in line with the goals of the movement.
